I came across this paper that talks about a technique called 'squeeze delivery' detailed in this paper - http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/journal/112199160/abstract. Unfortunately only the abstract is available for free. I've had a few lipomas removed with the typical surgical excision that leaves significant scarring and, now that I have so many more lumps that I'd like removed (also foresee lots more coming down the road), I'd like to find a removal procedure that leaves the least amount of scarring. The technique detailed in the paper seems to call for a very small cut through which the lipoma is squeezed out (I think I might've read more than the abstract somewhere, but I can't seem to find the site right now). I believe that it might not even require stitching afterwards. I'm almost tempted to do this kind of excision on myself - I've become so self-conscious of the damn lumps. Has anyone had theirs removed in this manner?
Oh yeah, the cost of the usual surgical procedure is pretty prohibitive if you have lots - it's about $300-400 CAD, if I recall. I'm hoping that a simpler procedure such as the above might also be less expensive to perform.
Cheers,
Adrian
